Background

I was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and currently reside near New Orleans with my husband Nicholas. I am a former teacher with a degree in Early Childhood Education.

How I Came To Be a Writer

I've written and kept journals from a young age. In high school, I won an award for a submission in a local poetry contest. I wrote my debut novel because I couldn't find a book that represented me and my experiences on the shelves. When I was reading one of my favorite romance novels, I remember thinking, She just hops on the kitchen counter so easily? I can't do that. That dampened the experience for me because it wasn't realistic for my experience.

How My Disabilities Impact My Writing and Life in General

My CP limits my range of motion, stamina, and motor skills. I wrote Rolling Into Love to show that people with physical disabilities are still consenting adults who deserve to be loved and feel sexy without needing to hop onto a kitchen counter. The rollator and brace featured on the cover are actually modeled after my own.

Challenges He/She/They Faces As a Writer

I need lots of breaks when writing because of both my ADHD and my CP. I can't sit for more than 30 minutes, and even if I could, the creativity would be severely impaired if I made myself sit and stare at a screen without resting in between sessions.

What's Next

I am excited to continue Rachelle and Theo's love story in the sequel!
